Ok, Long time no see.. Was busy with too much work. Got a little bit of free time in the last couple of weeks and was mucking around with some Artifical Neural Network packages out there and ran into an issue with FANN 2.1.0 Beta.
I was able to compile and install the core libfann without any issues, however when I tried compiling the python binding pyfann I ran into some issues, first ubuntu did not have any of the python dev packages installed by default so installed them with
sudo apt-get install python-dev
and then installed the swig package
Gentoo v2007.0 Virtual Machine
If you are here, you probably know a bit about Gentoo Linux already, if not Gentoo.org is a good place to start and Gentoo arguably has the best product documentation wiki ever, so it makes sense to look it up, if you run into something.
Now about the VM itself.
Gentoo Linux Configuration
Linux Kernel: 2.6-23-gentoo-r3
Installation Type: Minimal (no Desktop Environment)
User Name/password – none
Root Password: “gentoo”
I was finally able to find some time to work on this again and have completely reworked the downloads..
All downloads are still primarily delivered using bittorrent. The .torrent files are served locally and but are now tracked via public trackers and not my own. I have moved that tracker server to serve direct http downloads and added webseeding capability to all the torrents, so you will never be stuck with an incomplete download.
As mentioned above there is also a direct http link available for each download now, however please use this only if you absolutely do not have any way of using bittorrent to get the file.
Also I have added a small donation button, so that if you feel the need to be philanthropic, you can do so and your money will go directly into footing the hosting bills and not to my bimmer plan.
Thanks, and thank you for your support and comments.

I was setting up a small wiki site to track my music collection and track details and was trying to set up short urls like “http://wiki.myhost.org/Main_Page” instead of “http://wiki.myhost.org/index.php?title=Main_Page”
From all the reading up I did on various forums and wiki’s I was preparing for a long night ahead of me to get this working. However it turned out be a anti-climax with the URL’s working after only a couple of trials. Here’s how I did it.
Installed mediawiki using the oneClick install on wiki.myhost.org and then changed
